Our primary focus is on providing healthy kittens to a quality home. Because the health of your future family member is important to us, we have provided core vaccines for FVR, FCV, and FPV, as well as deworming and flea treatments as necessary. We only feed our cats high-quality (no corn, wheat, or soy) cat food, as well as homemade chicken gravy. Our Maine Coons and kittens DO NOT GO OUTSIDE. When our kittens are transferred to their new homes, it is required for the new owners to continue proper care of their kittens. If you take one of our kittens home, it is expected that:
1. The kitten(s) will establish veterinary care within one week of arriving at their new home. Veterinary care is the sole financial and personal responsibility of the new owner upon taking custody of the kitten(s).
2. Care will be taken when introducing kittens to your home and other household pets to avoid unnecessary stress and/or injury. We can advise you on proper take-home procedures if you are not familiar with an acceptable introduction to your home.
3. Kittens will be spayed or neutered before receiving paperwork. Spaying should be done no later than 6-7 months of age. Neutering limits necessary testosterone for growth, but for spraying purposes, it should be completed no later than 9 to 12 months of age. Registration paperwork will not be released until proof of spay/neuter is received showing veterinary verification for the kitten you received from Tufted Tips.
4. While Maine Coons are perfectly suited for outside, allowing your Maine Coon outside voids any and all contracted obligations of Tufted Tips and its owners, including those stated and unstated from any health issue related to or reasonably associated with exposure to the outdoors.
5. Kittens will not be declawed.
6. Re-homing your kitten voids all contractual obligations of Tufted Tips and its owners both stated and unstated.
7. If you fail to spay/neuter your cat, all obligations of this contract extended by Tufted Tips and its owners are null and void. Registration paperwork will not be transferred, and all guarantees are void.
8. Attempting to breed without express written consent and proper breeding rights registered with a cat breeding association voids all obligations of Tufted Tips and its owners. Furthermore, Tufted Tips reserves the right to take possession of any cat received from Tufted Tips that was used for breeding and a fine of $2000 or the total amount received from any sale of kittens resulting from the un-permitted breeding of a Tufted Tips cat, whichever is higher as allowed by law. No refund will be provided for the forfeiture of the bred cat.
9. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your kitten. If Tufted Tips cannot deliver your kitten as agreed, such as for health reasons, we will refund your deposit or apply it toward another kitten should one be available. Tufted Tips reserves the right to extend the date of transfer for health reasons to ensure your kitten is in good health before being transferred to your care. A refund will not be available due to this extension.
Our Obligations:
1. Tufted Tips will provide initial healthcare to kittens including FVR, FCV, AND FPV vaccines and de-worming/flea treatments as necessary.
2. Our Queens have been genetically tested and will be bred with Kings genetically compatible to ensure healthy offspring.
3. We will provide access to kittens upon request before payment is due to avoid scamming.
4. We will provide socialization to ensure your kitten is familiar and comfortable around people, children, and other cats.
5. Should an undetected debilitating health issue arise at no fault of new owners, Tufted Tips will offer an exchange for another kitten if one is available. You may also request to be put on a waitlist for a future litter. Refunds will be available if other options are not. We reserve the right to verify the stated health issue prior to the return of the kitten to Tufted Tips. No refund or exchange will occur if the condition claimed is not verified on the second opinion of a veterinarian. This guarantee is valid for 12 months from the date you pick up your kitten.
6. Tufted Tips and its owners are not responsible for any damages one of our kittens/cats does to your home or any individuals. Cats have sharp teeth and claws. Owners understand and accept any injury their cat causes, and accept all inherent dangers from ownership of Maine Coon cats.
1. Reservation deposits are non-refundable with the exception of Tufted Tips becoming unable to fulfill their obligations. Example: kitten develops health issues rendering sale or transfer impossible. Deposits in this case may also be transferred to a different kitten or future litter.
2. Refunds for valid reasons will only be made upon the return of the purchased cat. Valid reasons include:
-the death of a cat due to an illness contracted before transfer from Tufted Tips
-rapid onset of a debilitating condition verified by a veterinarian within the 12 month period following transfer of the cat from Tufted Tips to its owner.
3. Tufted Tips and its owners reserve the right to have any cat seen by a licensed veterinarian to verify condition before accepting any return.
